Picture PR

Your camera roll is full of duplicates, look-alikes, burst frames, blurry misses, and old screenshots. Picture PR finds them right on your device, recommends the best shot to keep, and helps you clear out the rest to free up space — one quick review at a time.

100% on-device. No account, no cloud, no tracking — your photos never leave your device.

Coming soon to iPhone, iPad, Mac & Android

Windows is in the works too. Free when it launches — no ads, no subscriptions.

What Picture PR Does

Reclaim space and tidy up your library — without sending a single photo to anyone else's servers.

Find Duplicates

Spot the exact copies scattered through your library — the same shot saved twice, re-downloaded, or shared back to you — even when they were saved days apart.

Catch Look-Alikes & Bursts

Not just identical files. Picture PR groups the near-identical shots you took seconds — or minutes — apart, so you can keep the one you love and drop the rest.

Flag Blurry Shots

Out-of-focus, motion-blurred, or accidental pocket photos rise to the top so you can decide whether they're worth keeping.

Round Up Screenshots

The receipts, memes, and screen grabs that quietly pile up get their own pile, so clearing them out is quick and deliberate.

Keeps the Best Shot

For every group, Picture PR recommends the one to keep — and on iPhone, Mac, and Android it even favors the frame where faces are sharp and eyes are open. Prefer your own rule? Pick sharpest, largest, newest, or best-looking.

Swipe to Tidy

On your phone, a fast, card-by-card Swipe mode makes cleanup feel like a game — flick to keep or clear, with undo and a confirm before anything is removed.

Free Up Space

A size-first view surfaces your largest photos and videos. On Android, it's one tap to scan the usual space-hogs — WhatsApp media, screenshots, and downloads — with live sizes.

Safe to Remove

Clear confidence labels tell you what's safe to remove at a glance, so you can clear the obvious duplicates fast and give the closer calls a proper look.

100% On-Device

All the analysis runs right on your device. There's no account, no server, no cloud upload, and no analytics — your photos never leave your phone, tablet, or computer.

Nothing Is Gone for Good

Removed photos go to Recently Deleted (or the Trash / Recycle Bin), recoverable for about 30 days. Picture PR never hard-deletes — you always have a safety net.

iCloud-Safe

Picture PR won't pull down your iCloud originals unless you turn that on for a scan — it's off by default. Your iCloud Photos and its download settings stay under your control.

You Approve Every Change

Picture PR only ever recommends. Nothing is removed until you review the group and say so — no surprise deletions, ever.

How It Works

Scan, review, done — all on your device.

1

Scan

Point Picture PR at your library — or just a date range or album. It compares your photos on-device to find duplicates, look-alikes, blurry shots, and screenshots. Nothing is uploaded.

2

Review

Go group by group. Picture PR highlights the best shot to keep and flags what's safe to remove — or, on your phone, swipe through card by card. Nothing happens until you approve it.

3

Free up space

Remove the extras with a tap. They go to Recently Deleted or the Trash, recoverable for about 30 days — so a wrong call is never permanent — and your running total shows how much you've freed.

Completely private

Picture PR has no servers, no accounts, no cloud sync, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs — the Android app doesn't even request internet access. Every photo is analyzed right on your device and nothing is ever uploaded. It requests access to your photo library only, to compare your photos locally and move the ones you choose to remove.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Picture PR.

Yes. Picture PR is free. There are no ads, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no required accounts.

Picture PR is being built as a native app for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Android, with a Windows version in the works. Each one is built natively for its platform — not a single cross-platform shell — so it feels at home wherever you use it. It hasn't launched yet; this page will update with download links as each platform becomes available.

No. All of the analysis — finding duplicates, look-alikes, bursts, blurry shots, and screenshots, and choosing the best shot to keep — runs entirely on your device. There are no servers we operate, no cloud sync, and no analytics. The Android app doesn't even ask for internet access. Your photos are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.

For each group it recommends a keeper — by default the sharpest, best-looking frame, and on iPhone, Mac, and Android it also favors the shot where faces are in focus and eyes are open (all judged on-device). You can switch the rule to sharpest, largest, newest, or best-looking, and you can always override the pick for any group yourself. Picture PR only suggests — the final call is yours.

On iPhone and Android, Swipe mode turns cleanup into a quick, card-by-card game: flick one way to keep a photo, the other to clear it. There's an undo, and you always confirm before anything is actually removed. It's a relaxed way to chip away at a big library a little at a time.

They're moved to Recently Deleted on iPhone/Mac (or the system Trash on Android, the Recycle Bin on Windows), where they stay recoverable for about 30 days before your operating system removes them permanently. Picture PR never hard-deletes your photos, so if you change your mind you can restore them.

Never. Picture PR only recommends. It groups your photos and highlights the best shot to keep, but nothing is removed until you review and approve it. Detection isn't perfect, which is exactly why every removal is review-first — you're always in control.

Yes, and it's iCloud-safe. Picture PR will not download your full-resolution iCloud originals unless you explicitly turn that on for a scan — and that option is off by default. A normal scan works from the copies already on your device.

Just access to your photo library — so it can read your photos to compare them, and move the ones you choose to remove into Recently Deleted or the Trash. It doesn't ask for your contacts, location, camera, or microphone (on Android it has no internet permission at all). You can review or revoke the permission in your device's settings at any time.

Always a good idea. Removed photos are recoverable for about 30 days, but Picture PR is a cleanup tool, not a backup product. Keeping an independent backup — iCloud Photos, Google Photos, Time Machine, or an external drive — of anything you can't afford to lose is the safest habit.

Support Development

I built Picture PR because my own camera roll had turned into a swamp of duplicates and near-misses, and every "photo cleaner" wanted to send it all to the cloud first. This one keeps everything on your device. If it helps you reclaim some space, that's the goal. Support is optional but appreciated.
